Ok so, 4....no 5 years ago, I got 4 full-blooded lab puppies. 1 black female, a chocolate male, a gold male, and a black male. And for the first 6 months everything's fine, it's fun and none stop cooing cause they're so freakin adorable. Okay, so 6 months, getting to that time where it's needed to start getting them fixed. A week before we get the only female fixed, a fight breaks out between the female, and the gold and chocolate male. Get the chocolate away and back into the house. The female is pretty much choking the gold to death, like his collar got stuck in his teeth while they were playing. My mom has the female, dad has the gold male. I'm leading struggling to get the chocolate male back in the house while my sister is frantically searching for sisors to cut the collar. We get them seperated after what feels like hours and I'm shaking like a leaf.
A year goes by, all of them now fixed. Things have been okay. 2 fight breaks out. Both times it's the gold and chocolate male. The first time my dad seperates them, the second time, me and my dad seperate them. We moved the chocolate to the back of the house to try and keep the fights from happening. Unfortunately, there's still a strong struggle for dominance. And the gold starts attacking the female.
In the first fight with the female I was at home with my sister. I was in the kitchen, holding both their collars while they snapped at each other. My sister was in the back of the house. Not knowing what else to do, I screamed at the top of my lungs as if I'm being murdered. My heart is racing in my chest as I start to lose grip and the fight breaks out. I'm still screaming, yelling for my sister to come and help me. I grabbed a broom and started hitting both across their backs but they didn't stop. Finally my sister came running into the kitchen. I threw the broom and starting yanking on the golds collar as he clamped onto the female's neck. My sister got scratched in the thigh and bit on her wrist as she tried to pull his teeth up. I don't even really remember how we seperated them. I just remember pushing the female into my room and putting the gold male outside. We went to the bathroom and my sister was bleeding. We wrapped gauze around her wrist and thigh and called both our parents. My dad couldn't come because his boss is a prick. So we called our mom. We left all dogs were they were, the gold outside, the female in my room, the black male in the den, and the chocolate in the living room, and went straight for the ER.
From then on, the female and the chocolate lived in the back of the house. They got along perfectly. Their reactions and they way they acted it was like they were twins. Same expressions, same carefree personality. But when they got in fights, it was a whole other story. Strong. Muscles tense. No response when you call their name. Watching each fight was more horrible and deadly than the last. It was as though they trained on their own to get stronger. It was clear by the 4th fight that the female was the Alpha. And by the end of each fight I was left in the same state, on the verge of tears, struggling to breathe, terrified, tired, as though I'd just ran a mile. It may have been some kind of panic attack, I really don't know. From that fight to the last, I can't really recall who each was between or how long it lasted or what caused it. I can only recall the terrible images that flash through my head. The one that repeats the most is the last.
It was just a few months ago. 4 and a half years since we'd gotten them. I'd just got home from school. A few of my friends and my sister were there. We were in my room playing video games. I remember laughing because Lollipop was terrified of dogs, and the friendliest of the bunch came up and started to lick him like crazy. As usual, I put the gold in my bedroom, and let out the black male and chocolate male. The female was being lazy and just laid under the table next to my sister. I left my room to go to the bathroom. And when I came out of the bathroom a few minutes later, I noticed the door to my room was open. The male and female were at it again. My friends had fled out the front door and were watching. I ran into the kitchen and grabbed the first thing I could to use as a weapon. It was a piece of rod iron we kept across the door to make sure it couldn't get opened since the door was old and loose and we couldn't afford at the moment to get a new one. I went back to the living room, and the glass in the door was shattered across the carpet. I hit the male across the back with the iron as he clamped down once again on her neck. The iron bent, didn't even stun him. My sister called my father who'd just gotten off work, telling him to hurry and went with me to try and find another weapon. I still had the iron rod in hand and my sister used the broom pole. I called out to my friends, telling them to grab the flagpole. Beating them enough in the past seemed to help seperate them but now, it was like they were immune to it. I think it was about 20 minutes later, it could've been earlier, it could've been later. I don't know, but they broke a part for a moment, panting. That's when I grabbed the female and my sister grabbed the male. It was hard getting a good grip on them since they were both covered in saliva, but I managed to drag the female to the bathroom and lock her in there. My dad pulled in just as my sister put the male in my room. My dad was pissed when he saw the broken glass. My friends lingered by the door still in aftershock and like most people scared of my dad's current cold tone. He asked us how it happened. He turned to me, and I told him I was just coming out of the bathroom, and my sister having been in the dining room, didn't know either cause she couldn't see. He then turned to my friends, and they said they weren't sure either. My only guess is Lollipop got scared and didn't shut the door good behind him, but I really have no clue. After that my dad asked where he was and where the female was. He grabbed the leash, told me to clean up the mess, and dragged the dog down to the pound. For months we'd already been thinking of getting rid of him, especially since he bit my sister. But my mom wouldn't let us, saying it was cruel and unjust. Really though, by law you're supposed to put down an animal if it attacks repeated times and one of those attacks happens to be on its owner.
I was extremely shaken after that. I remember breaking down and crying as my sister and dad took the dog to the pound and my friends let. leaving me with 3 dogs. I didn't move any of them. I just got a broom and started sweeping up the glass.
Since getting rid of the gold male. The black male died from causes we don't know, and the female and chocolate male ran away. As of now I have no dogs. And even though I still love dogs, I highly doubt if I'll ever get another. But if I do it'll only be 1 dog. I'm sick of having these flashbacks, everytime the images pass through, I get that same dark, cold, feeling of just having experienced a panic attack. It's been nearly 6 months since all dogs have left. 5 years since we originally got them. I often wonder what ever happened to the chocolate and black female. I hope they're okay.

I really appreciate it.
